The two licenses to Interim Storage Partners and Holtec International should never have been granted. There is no permanent repository for spent nuclear fuel in the United States.
The two “interim” sites have the strong possibility for being permanent storage sites for high-level nuclear waste. Especially if the federal government is not in a rush to seek a permanent solution.
